Men’s 7 Deadly Dating Sins: Bad personal hygiene

Author: Nicky

Bad personal hygiene is a major turn-off and although it does sometimes affect women, it is somehow more likely among men. There’s no substitute for good preparation when it comes to a date and you should always think about how to present yourself in order to make a good impression.

When you turn up to a date looking clean, healthy and smelling nice and fresh it may only be noticed on a subconscious level by your date, but the point is that if you turn up looking dirty, unhealthy and smelling bad it will immediately count against you and probably prevent your date from even opening up in order to make a connection.

Pay close attention to the details too. It’s not just about grabbing a quick shower before your date. Make sure your nails are clipped and clean and that your teeth are brushed and flossed. Make sure that the clothes you wear don’t look as if they’ve been hastily grabbed off the floor – even if that’s the case!

Remember that bad personal hygiene may be taken as a bit of an insult on a date – that you didn’t see fit to scrub up sufficiently in order to impress your potential new squeeze.

Men’s 7 Deadly Dating Sins: No sense of humour

Author: Nicky

If you look at the dating profiles of most people you will find that a good sense of humours is one of the most highly prized characteristics out there. However, this doesn’t mean that you have to tell jokes all the time. You mustn’t put yourself under pressure to be funny because that’s not quite the same thing.

What people look for in a good sense of humour is the capability to treat subject with a certain attractive lightness. When you have a positive, smiling nature, that is better evidence of good humour than being able to deliver a killer one-liner.

One of the worst mistakes you can make on a date is to come across as if you have no sense of humour. When you’re nervous it’s easy to be serious, but you mustn’t let it get on top of you. Try to relax, smile, laugh along with stories and treat subjects with that sense of good-natured interest that works so well in social situations.

Don’t take yourself too seriously. Show that you are able to laugh at yourself because that’s one of the clearest indicators that you will remain good company in the long run.
